SERVICE LIFE

STEYR Marine Engines are manufactured using high alloy materials to provide enduring longevity for all running components. Corrosion resistant materials are used for the entire seawater system as a standard in the dual circuit cooling system. COMFORT

The patented 2-stage UNIT INJECTOR fuel injection technology provides for worldwide-approved, smooth operation and low noise (patented). Noise emission levels are below the the running noise of gasoline engines. The additional elastic separation of the Monoblock from the aluminum casted engine housing reduces the engine-related vibration transmitted into the hull, therefore further reducing the noise level on board. Torque and speed range characteristics enable optimal matching to individual applications while maintaining transmission, gear ratio and propeller dimensions. The vast selection of matched accessories fulfills the highest level of quality and comfort on board of your vessel.

ENGINE MONOBLOCK

Our unique and robust monoblock design, as well as an engine block and cylinder head made from high grade alloy cast iron, eliminate the usual limitations to engine cooling and provide unrivaled roundness of the cylinder, which allows for an exceptional longevity of the liner and other related components. Other unique aspects include:

  • Dynamically balanced Chrome-Molybdenum forged crankshaft
  • Pistons cast from high silicon aluminum with oil cooling channel using 3-ring technology
  • Hardened valve-seats made of high performance NIMONIC valve material
  • Elastic coupling on flywheel designed to match required application
